Job Title: Scientist – Biomarker Data Analysis & Simulation (Diagnostics)

Employment Type: Full-time, yearly renewable contract

As we expand and strengthen our innovation and product development capabilities in Hong Kong, we are seeking a Scientist to advance biomarker-driven diagnostic innovation through data analysis, computational modeling, and simulation. This role focuses on transforming complex biomarker datasets into predictive models that inform diagnostic product development and clinical decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with biological insight and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

 Key Responsibilities
    • Perform statistical analysis and computational modeling of biomarker data from clinical and preclinical               diagnostic studies.
    • Develop and validate simulation frameworks to predict biomarker performance in diagnostic assays.
    • Collaborate with assay development, bioinformatics, and clinical teams to design experiments and interpret results.
    • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.    
    • Monitor emerging trends in biomarker analytics and machine learning.

 

Qualifications
    • Education: Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Systems Biology, or related field.
    • Technical Skills:
        • Proficiency in data analysis tools (R, Python, MATLAB) and statistical modeling.
        • Experience with simulation platforms (e.g., SimBiology, COPASI, or similar).
        • Familiarity with diagnostic assay development, biomarker discovery, and PK/PD modeling.
        • Strong understanding of biological pathways and clinical biomarker applications.
        • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
        • Fluent in Mandarin and English.

 

Preferred Experience
    • Hands-on experience with machine learning or AI-driven modeling applied to biomarker diagnostics.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic product development and regulatory requirements for biomarker validation.
    • Experience in IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics) or related diagnostic industry settings.

    • Model Predictive Performance: Achieve ≥80% sensitivity and specificity in simulation-based predictions for diagnostic assays.
    • Project Timelines: Deliver validated models and analysis reports within agreed timelines (e.g., 90% on-time delivery).
    • Cross-functional Impact: Positive feedback from assay development and clinical teams on actionable insights provided.
    • Innovation Contribution: At least 2 new computational approaches or workflow improvements implemented annually.
    • Regulatory Readiness: Zero major findings in biomarker-related documentation during audits or regulatory reviews.
 

 

Job Title: Diagnostic Product Developer

Your Role
You will play a key role in developing and manufacturing bioanalytical and biomarker methods, contributing to the creation of next-generation diagnostic solutions. Responsibilities include:

    • Laboratory & Quality Management
    - Manage sample storage, collection, and documentation.
    - Maintain lab systems and ensure compliance with quality standards (GxP, ISO 13485).
    - Oversee laboratory operations and SOP adherence.

    • Product & Method Development
    - Collaborate on assay development & manufacturing.
    - Perform clinical-chemical analyses and statistical evaluations.
    - Optimize internal processes to improve R&D efficiency and quality.

    • Documentation & Reporting
    - Prepare analytical plan & reports and technical documentation for QMS.
    - Ensure scientific integrity and completeness of data.

    • Project Management
    - Monitor timelines and budgets for development projects.
    - Support manufacturing and innovation initiatives.

What We’re Looking For
    • Education & Experience
    - At least a Master’s degree (preferably a PhD) in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics, Life Sciences, or related field with years of relevant experience.
    - Experience in coagulation, hematology, hemostasis, or immunology preferred.
    - Familiarity with GxP or ISO 13485 standards in medical device is an advantage.

    • Skills & Competencies
    - Strong knowledge of diagnostic and biochemical methods.
    - Proficiency in statistical analysis and data science (a plus).
    - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    - Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); programming skills are a bonus.
    - Fluent in Mandarin and English.
